May 20th, 2000 - Season Finale Show - Rory Block - One of the world's greatest living blues women will take the stage at the Whitney for the final concert of our 1999-2000 season. What a finish!! Rory rips it up on stage and over the air waves in another "Live From The Skylands" simulcast on WNTI-FM.

 

April 22nd, 2000 - Tim O'Brien & Darrell Scott - Following twelve years at the helm of the immensely popular Hot Rize group, Tim started his solo career in 1990. As a songwriter, his lyrics have won him many high-profile admirers. Kathy Mattea, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Lyle Lovett are on record as major fans, as well as Garth Brooks, who recorded a version of the title track from Tim’s recent Sugar Hill release, “When No One’s Around”. His recordings have earned two Grammy nominations, and his last three releases have each topped Gavin’s Americana chart.

 

April 1st, 2000 - Skylands will present The John Carlini Quartet in concert as part of the 7th Annual Myhelan Film Festival gala producer's party. Meet the filmmakers and check out John's incredible gypsy/samba/jazz stylings with special guest Barry Mitterhoff on mandolin.

 

March 25th, 2000 - Ellis Paul - Ellis won the Kerrville (TX) "Best New Folk" Award and the Acoustic Underground competition. USA Today tagged him as a "Best Bet for Stardom", and his records have charted in the Top 5 of the CMJ and Gavin Triple-A radio polls. Dirty Linen magazine has called Ellis "one of contemporary folk music's most influential voices".

 

February 19th, 2000 - Lunasa - Virtuoso instrumental quintet from Ireland. Voted the finest traditional band in the world by The Irish Echo and The Irish Voice. Featured on CNN's World Beat TV series.

 

January 29th, 2000 - The Nields - Our first concert of the new millennium. The inimitable Katryna and Nerissa in their Skylands debut. Jenny Bruce opens the show.

 

December 18th, 1999 - Patty LarkinAwesome guitar playing and songwriting from one of the finest original stylists in new-acoustic music.

 

November 20th, 1999 - Todd Sheaffer & Neal Casal - Both Skylands natives. Todd is a founding member of RCA records artists From Good Homes. Neal's "Fade Away Diamond Time" CD on Zoo Records is legendary. Both are outstanding singer-songwriters.

 

October 30th, 1999 - Bobby Syvarth Combo - Bobby's CD release concert.  Listen for re-broadcast of the show over WNTI 91.9 FM as part of the Live From the Skylands radio program.
